GOLD medals for CANADA but not for the triplets attitudes today...well part of the day

Our day started of great today with a visit from the Jansens for brunch. Unfortunately I only got one picture (well actually John got). So here is Zach helping me feed the boys their rice cereal...they also tried peaches today which were a big hit!We went over to Grammy and Grandpas to watch the game.
Here is Mr.Matthew with Aunty Val.
Little Luc with Grammy
And there was no picture of Nate because he was still sleeping like an angel! The other two woke up from the cheering after Canada's first goal!
After the second period I ended up bringing the boys home...this is where they lost their gold attitude medal! When the boys and I got home they continued to fuss (which is REALLY uncharacteristic of them) so as they moaned and groaned I was brainstorming a list of reasons they might be acting this way. Here is what I came up with
  1. They were not feeling great
  2. They did not nap long enough
  3. They were teething (still no teeth)
  4. They were hungry

and then it came to me...they were worried that Canada was going to lose the Gold medal! Which had to be it because as soon as the game was over and the medals were awarded the boys turned their frowns upside down!

Here is Matty showing some Canadian pride!

Nate proud to be Canadian!
Lucas happy to be a Canuck!

Happy Weezers

So we had another first today...one that I was NOT looking forward to...our first trip to the ER. The boys have been coughing and stuffed up for about a week now. Nurse GAK has been coming over to listen to their chests the last couple nights and when we called her to come and listen this morning she said that we should take them into the walk in clinic...so we did...and they sent us to the hospital...where we waited and waited and waited. AND WAITED!!!
Here is Daddy feeding Matty a bottle while we waited.Grammy and Luc, while we waited.
Dad and Matty and Grammy and Luc...while we waited. (Nate is helping me take the picture!)
After 2 1/2 hours they took us up to the pediatric office...here is Daddy feeding Matthew again while we waited.
Daddy eating LUNCH, while we waited.
The boys playing on the floor of the pediatric office...while we waited.
Me and Nathan while we waited.
Grammy and Luc while we waited.
FINALLY the boys get to see a doctor, and she was wonderful. Here she is checking out our little Matthew...she thought that he was quite the flirt!
Checking out Nathan who she thought was quite funny!
Lucas's turn where he also turned on the charm!
In the end the boys were officially diagnosed as "happy weezers"...also know as bronchialitis (I think that was what she said). They did not have to be admitted but were written a couple of prescriptions. John and I were SO impressed with our little troopers today, they were SO well behaved. Even the doctor at the walk-in clinic wrote that they smiled throughout their examination on the referal letter that he sent with us to the hospital!

Eating supper tonight...this one was just too sute not to put up!
And this is all of the stuff that came out of the pharmacy bag when I unpacked it...
The boys had a vapo bath tonight and sounded better going down to bed than they did this morning...hopefully they wake up even better so that they are ready to cheer on team Canada to gold tomorrow!

ROAD TRIP!!!

So this morning the boys and I went on our very first road trip with Mel and her little guys to visit Mandi and her little guy! Now this trip took A LOT of prep...we had 3-6 month olds, 1-almost 2 month old and 1-almost 2 year old, which means 5 CARSEATS!!! Now once the carseats were loaded we had to worry about snacks for the drive, entertainment for the drive in case anyone were to wake up, mid morning snacks for my 3, bumbos to feed the fellas in, bottles for my 3 and changes of clothes for babies (I actually brought an extra shirt too...which I did end up using). But we did get on the road close to our estimated time and we made it all the way there with no crying (Matthew did wake up and grumble a bit but I am not going to count it as crying). The drive was wonderful...we got to see the mountains and it was so nice out we even had to turn opn the A/C!!!
Here is the front seat loaded up and ready to go!An overflowing diaper bag in the back!

WE MADE IT!!! 3 smilers and one sleeper! Bennett was already busy playing with the toys!
While we were eating Mandi brought up Sam's old jumper for Matty to use...he got a little fussy while he was jumping so Bennett decided to show him what to do. Matthew thought that Bennett was the funniest jumper around...it was quite funny to watch!

Sam and Matty hanging out
Here is the vehicle all loaded up and ready to go home! I love it!
Thanks to the Connolley's for having us over...we came in like a tornado, used their toys, ate their food, used their toys some more, ate some more and then we were on our way again...hopefully they will let us visit again sometime soon!
The drive home was just as successfull as the drive down...we even got to pick up a starbucks on our way out of town!

Already?!?!?!

Today was the boys' 6 month birthday...already! I can not believe that they are 6 months old, but at the same time I can not remember life without them! We did a little at home photo shoot today...these little guys are so flippin cute!

John and I compiled a top ten list of reasons that we love being the parents to our three little guys...here it is (in no particular order)!
1. Getting them out of bed in the morning - when the boys are ready to get up it is SO fun to go in and get them because as soon as they see you they start smiling and kicking.
2. Watching them watch each other - it seems like the boys notice/like each other more and more EVERY single day! They watch each other, grab each others cheeks, and put their hands in each others mouths...SO CUTE!!!
3. Taking them out and about - although it is a TON of work we ABSOLUTELY LOVE taking our boys out to do things, from simple visits to family and friends' houses to the olympic torch relay it is great to get out, we can't wait for the weather to get a little warmer so that we do not need to be so worried about them getting cold!
4. Getting to see each first 3 times - although anyone with three kids gets to see each first three times, it is A LOT of fun to see how soon after one another they have their firsts...I am sure they are putting ideas in each others heads...which could mean trouble for us when they get a bit older!
5. Seeing us in them - although the boys do not really look like either of us it is fun when they do something that is characteristic of one of us. Everyonce in awile they will do something that is totally me or totally John and I LOVE it!
6. Checking them before we go to bed - everynight before we go to bed we check in on the boys to make sure that they are covered with their blankets. It is so cute to see them all aleeping so soundly in their three little cribs!
7. Getting them all to laugh at the same time - at first this was quite a challenge but it seems to get easier and easier each day. When they all get laughing we can't help but laugh ourselves!
8. Listening to their "dragon" noises - I am sure that all babies make cute little noises but there is no way that it can be as entertaining as when these three start all talking at the same time. We joke that Scortch (Lucas's dragon) teaches them new words and noises in the night.
9. Watching them jump - our boys LOVE their jolly jumpers! Everyday before their afternoon naps and before bed we have jumping time...I just wish that they amde them big enough for John and I to each have one too!
10. Everyday being more fun than the last - everynight when we go to bed we think that there is no way that the boys can be more fun than they were today...turns out EVERYDAY they are funner than the day before, do we ever love these boys!

And Matthew makes 3!

So we now have 3 rollers! It sure makes diaper changes and getting them dressed a lot more of a challenge than it used to be.
Here is Matthew after rolling over onto his tummy!
Nathan was the first one to roll and has taught his younger brothers well!

ewwww...VEGGIES!

So the boys have been eating their rice cereal for over a week now and doing a really good job...so we figured it was time to let them try a new food...CARROTTS! I gave them each a bit of the new orange stuff and they were repulsed...I tried a few more times but just got the same reaction. I prepared some squash this morning to freeze but did not have it all frozen yet, since it had a much smoother texture than the carrotts I thought I would give it a try...I did not think that it was possible but they hated this even more, the second it hit their tounge they would gag.
Here is Lucas's reaction...Nathan's...
and Matthew's
I was feeling a little bad that they hated it SO MUCH so I made a little rice cereal to help wash it down.

Lucas thinking that the rice cereal is MUCH better
Nathan Loving it!
Mr. Matthew happy as a clam!
We will persist with the new foods...I will keep you posted with how it goes!
