Roots of Empathy

This past year I took the boys into a grade one class once a month for a program called roots of empathy. The grade ones watched how the boys grew, and asked us lots of questions (and made lots of comments). We just got a card from the kids and I just had to share what it said. Each of the kids wrote out their "wish for the boys", here they are...

We wish...

  • they learn really good
  • they can run fast
  • they can read
  • they can ride a bike
  • they can grow up
  • they can run really fast
  • they can run like me
  • they are funny
  • they could stay here
  • they can play
  • they have a lovely world
  • they have fun
  • they will be nice
  • they can stand up
  • they will have toys
  • they can walk
  • they can ride a bike
  • they will have a nice life
  • they learn great things
  • they are always healthy
  • they have lots of fun
  • they have a fun time
  • they learn how to use their manners
  • they will walk fast
  • they will have a good year
  • they are nice
  • they have a wonderful life

In addition to these wonderful wishes the boys got these adorable little "team puma" outfits and some adorable roots of empathy t-shirts (I will post a picture of them in the t-shirts later)

I scream you scream we all scream for icecream!

My 4 boys, Bones and I went down to Mackenzie Trails to meet Grammy, Grandpa and GG-ma/pa Sinclair for a picnic.
Here is Nate and GrammyDaddy, Bones and Luc. The other night Grammy "walked" Luc around for quite awhile...he has become unstoppable, and wants to walk all. the. time.
GG-ma and Matty
Nathan walking along the bench, happy to be out at the picnic.

Me and my 4 boys, what a lucky lady I am!
Lunch time!
After the picnic we came home and the boys (and John and I) had a wonderful afternoon nap. After we all woke up Aunty K and Uncle G came over for some fun in the pool, at the watertable, and some burgers! We figured the best way to finish our day was a trip to the Little Ice Cream and Soda Shoppe. Kelsey and I both worked at the Shoppe for years and years, we were very excited that we got to go and see Greg (our favorite ice cream maker) for the boys' first taste of ice cream...it is without a doubt THE BEST icecream EVER!!!
Luc and Greg
Grandpa, Dad and Luc checking out all the flavors!
Uncle Dave sharing his cone with Nate

Father's Day Fun

Since it is father's day I just want to start this post by sharing a little bit about what kind of a father John is. When John and I first started dating I knew he would be a great dad, what I did not know was that he would exceed every single expectation that I could have ever had for him. He is the most hands on dad that I have EVER met, and the boys and I love him to pieces. He is the dad that rushes in when he gets home from work because he can't wait to play with his boys. He is the dad that can get his boys laughing like nobody else can. He is the dad that brings lysol wipes to costco to clean the carts because he does not want his boys to get sick. If one of the boys gets up in the night John gets him and rocks him back to sleep. If one of the boys fall over he rushes to get them and make sure that they are okay. He has their favorite commercials on the PVR and ready to go if the boys feel the need to dance. John could beat anybody that I know at changing a diaper, getting a baby in their carseat, making a batch of bottles, or taking out the garbage...this guy is as great as they come. I am SO unbelievably lucky to have John as my partner in life and the dad of my boys. Here are some pictures from our day!
The boys and I found an Oiler's chair for John that matches theirs...SO CUTE!!! We NEED to go camping...or at least sit around a fire! The boys playing in Grammy and Grandpa's yard
Our Father's day BBQ this year was a golf theme so we had a long drive contest...with a marshmallow! It was quite funny to watch and try!!!
Me enjoying the sun and the great company!
Matty and G-pa playing around
Grammy and Luc playing with the tree!
GG-ma and Luc playing in Aunty K's drink tub
It was pretty warm outside and the boys were pretty messy from their supper so we stripped them down and let them play in G-pa and G-mas pool! hahaha

Just like the alligator pool Nathan was more interested in getting in and out than he was in actually just being in the "pool"

Nathan not quite sure being naked in the grass is the best idea!

Here are the cupcakes that we made for dessert
(Amy they are from the cupcake book!!!)

like father, like son

I am sure I have mentioned in a previous post how much my boys like the vacuum...all 4 of them! (Although John uses the vacuum to clean, not to suck his face...at least as far as I have seen hahaha)
Here are some pictures of the little boys enjoying the vacuum...

SO EXCITING!!!

Lucas thinking it is his turn...
Success!

The other day John was trying to vacuum and I was trying to get the fellas dressed...that did not work out for anyone involved...the floor did not get done, and as you can see the boys did not get dressed!
And the funny thing is that the boys love everything about the vacuum...the hose, the attachments, and even where it attaches to the wall! If they keep up their interest in the vacuum John will have them trained to use it properly by the time they are walking...and I will never have to vacuum again!!!
