Our three boys are very, very similar. Today it was really funny watching how differently they all played with the same "toy".

This was Matthew's. He found one big heart, and then went around collecting little ones from each of the other boys and sticking them on top of the big one...super cute!

This was Nathan's...definitely speaks to my borderline CDO (it's like OCD but in alphabetical order hahaha)

And here is our Lucas's...enough said! hahaha

Tonight after supper we went outside for awhile so the boys could shovel...they LOVE to shovel!!! Here are some pics!

When we came inside we decided to make some cookies...the boys each pulled a chair up to the counter and started making chaos! Before I knew it the 1kg bag of chocolate chips was dumped out onto the stove. John rushed over to start cleaning up the mess...and I said "STOP, we need a picture". So he stopped, I took a picture, and by the time we started "shovelling" them up they were melting all over the pre-heated stove! Too Funny!

Christmas Morning 2011

When we got up Christmas morning we noticed that one of Santa's sneaky little elves taped up the fellas door...probably to try and keep them in there!

Matty was the first one to the door...just like every other morning!

He turned around to tell his bros something was up! Nate got there right away...

and then Luc!

It was pretty funny watching them figure out how to get out :)

We packed up and went over to Grammy and Grandpa's house and Santa had left new shovels outside for each of my 4 boys!

And that was the last pic that got taken on Christmas day...things were crazy to say the least! We were at my parents house, then out to John's parents house, and then back in town to my parents house again. We shovelled, tobogganed and played on their new GIANT piano!!! There was not one spare minute in our entire day!! I hope everyone else also had a jam packed, WONDERFUL Christmas!

Yesterday Nate and I had the chance to bake some cookies together. We were all going to go outside but Nathan REFUSED to wear mittens so he and I stayed in, and did we ever have fun!

Playdate with the Lucks

The boys had their first triplet playdate the other day. The Lucks boys were born in September, and we were so glad they were able to come over for a "play"! Although we did not know Scott & Riana before, we have quite a few common friends, and Scott and I coached a bunch of the same girls! (I had them in middle school and he had them while they were in high school). I am sure that we will have lots of fun times in the future with our six little guys!

I did not manage to get the camera out until they were packing up to go but I really wanted a picture of the six of them at their first playdate!

Although Matty was not to impressed when they first arrived, he was giving all kinds of kisses by the time they had to go. I did not manage to get a pic of one though :(

Santa Claus Parade 2011

The boys and I had an AWESOME day today. Nothing special, just happy boys, that made a happy mom!

When John got home tonight we had supper, and then packed the boys up to go to the Santa Claus Parade. I LOVE that Christmas is in the air. We picked up G-pa, and were off! We met up with a friend that we had not seen in ages which was awesome...but unfortunately we were not able to connect with the friends we were planning on meeting...it was CRAZY busy since it was such a nice night. The parade was awesome and the tree lighting was awesome. The only thing about today that was NOT awesome was that I just found out that we missed a flash mob!!!

This year the fellas dressed up as the three little pigs, and John was the big bad wolf, so. freaking. cute! When I saw the Bunchkins dressed up like this last year I just knew that I had to do it for halloween this year! I am not super happy with the pictures that I got though...trying to get three 2 year olds in the same place at the same time, is close to impossible! Here are the ones that I did get.

What a Day!

Today was quite a day. It was a good day, but there were too many stories not to blog! We had a pretty busy morning. It started with a trip to Costco (where the tills were down and the line-ups were long) with Grandpa. When we got home one of the boys got their hands on a container of cupcake sprinkles...and got the lid off. I am always surprised how few sprinkles it takes to decorate a cupcake...but now that I know a single container can cover my ENTIRE kitchen, it make a little more sense! While I was madly sweeping them up the boys went silent...always a sign of trouble! They had taken the baby proof thingy off of our bedroom door, and the one off our ensuite door, and had unrolled an entire roll of toilet paper into the toilet...at least they didn't try to flush! (and on a side note no matter what we do we can't keep them out of our room...or any other room. We started with the things that go around your door handle, and they pulled them off. We super glued them...and they pulled them off. Then we wrapped them with electrical tape...and they pulled them off! I am open to suggestions so leave a comment if you have one!)

We then had a super fun playdate with the Lansings and Roths, ate lunch, and then it was time for a nap. The boys were making some odd noises so I peeked in and they were flipping the beds...way to go teamwork! I ended up hauling all the bed frames out and just leaving the mattresses on the floor, hoping that with nothing to flip they would just go to sleep...not the case! They set the beds up like a little racetrack and started running laps. When I looked in they all had red cheeks from running so hard! Here is a pic of their room pre-racetrack!

and just in case you can't see Nathan is "dusting" the bed frames with my blush brush that he went into our room and got while I was moving the beds!

Since they wouldn't sleep I brought them into my bed with me to watch Curious George...they are in love with this movie right now! We all ended up falling asleep, it was heaven! I have always wanted to nap with them in my bed but usually they think our bed is just for jumping! I wish that there was someone home to have taken a picture of the 4 of us all snuggled in there. After Nate and I got up I took some pictures of the other two!

When it was time to put their beds back together tonight John wrestled one in, I wrestled one in, and then when we turned around to get the other one the boys had pulled it out of the front room, and were bringing it down the hall! They managed to get it right into their room without even bumping any walls!

The other night...

The other night the fellas decided that at 12:00 they were done sleeping...not fun at ALL! The boys do wake up in the night but it never takes more than a few minutes for them to fall back asleep...and they have never woken each other up before. This night was a whole other ball game! I can't even remember who woke up first, but when I opened the door to their room they all got up and came out. I tried bringing them all to my bed...NO LUCK. I tried letting them cry it out...NO LUCK. Finally I brought them all out to the cuddle chair (for anyone who doesn't know, that is the actual name of the chair from the store...it's not just a little nickname that we gave it, even though it would be appropriate! hahaha), and we watched toy story. Here is a picture of the boys, SO TIRED!

They slept in a little bit but were still crazy tired all day long, and also crazy cranky! Here they are at one point during the day. It is SUPER rare for them to all be still at the same time!

And they also decided to not nap that day. GRRRR. They did go to bed a little early though, and so did mama!

Tonight John and I made a SUPER last minute decision to take the boys out to the Lacombe Corn Maze, to watch Cars 2.

Here is the best picture I ended up with to show the set-up of the open air cinema, I have never been to something like this before, and I was super impressed!

Earlier this week we met the Winter girls to go and pick some apples. It started off good...

And then the boys saw this John Deere...

2 toddlers fit quite nicely on the seat...

But there was nowhere for the third one to sit...which was tragic in the world of 2 year olds!

So we went on a walk and came across a bigger tractor!

and an old car!

and then all they wanted to do was go on the John Deere, so we ended up heading home! It was a fun half hour though, and Ali and I even got to chat for a whole 3 minutes! Okay maybe it was only two :)

Our backyard has become completely overtaken by ladybugs...and the boys LOVE them! I snapped some pics today of them playing with the lady bugs this morning, so funny, and so cute!

When the boys woke up from their nap on Saturday we decided to head out to the jungle farm, we had a blast!

Because I am only working every other day I did not have to work on the first day of school this year...so we decided to take the boys to the Calgary Zoo.

The boys do this funny little thing. Whomever gets put in their bed first, will hop out and wait to see who is coming next. As soon as they see who it is they run to that baby's bed and hop in. I lay them side by side and go out to get the next one. By the time I get back with the third baby, the other two are waiting for him in his bed! They think they are HILARIOUS!!!

Tonight I just had to get a picture of the three of them all snug in one little bed, way too cute!

Our Holidays?!?!?

On Thursday morning we woke the fellas up at 4:55am (after about an hour and a half of sleep for John and I) and were on the road by 5:00. We were heading down to Whitefish with some wonderful friends of ours...we had been excited for weeks!

The drive had been going really well. We decided to stop in Sparwood for a little bit of a run around and visit the biggest truck in the world!

We loaded the boys back up and drove the rest of the way. They got a little fussy towards the end but we would consider it a good drive down.

That's when things turned right around...for the worse. The boys were the fussiest they have EVER been, like seriously EVER...and all three of them. We could not keep them happy no matter what we tried. We went and got groceries...the boys fussed the ENTIRE time. They did calm down for about ten minutes when we let them play in the front seat of the vehicle..but then turned the attitude up ten times when we put them back in their carseats. When we got back to the campground we went to the petting zoo, which the boys LOVED, but when we put them back in the wagon to head back they FLIPPED, they were throwing absolute fits, and one of them even flipped himself out of the belt, and almost got right out of the wagon. We tried to entertain the boys in the trailer, but we were unsuccessful.

It was now about 6:00 (about 4.5 hours after we had arrived) and we decided to load them up and head home. It may sound like we gave up too soon, but we just didn't see this situation turning itself around. We were beyond disappointed to not be able to spend our weekend with the Roys, but we knew this was what we had to do.

Good news - they gave us back all our money

Bad news - The drive home was BRUTAL. The boys barely slept, and it felt like even when they were asleep they were whining. (and we in no way blame the boys for being fussy for the car ride home...if it were socially acceptable I am sure John and I would have been doing the same).

Good news - they let us bring our beer back over the border duty free even though we were not even in the states long enough to have a liquor exemption.

Bad news - the drive home was longer than expected due to construction (which as far as we could see was not even happening)

Good news - we got home at about 1:00, the boys fell fast asleep the second they were in their beds and didn't wake up until 10:00 am, then napped from 12:00-4:00, and still went to bed at 7:00 and fell asleep within minutes. I pretty much slept the exact same times as they did :)

We know that we made the right choice in coming home but are missing our time with the Roys :( The boys are just at a tough age right now. The campground would be AWESOME for kids...just not for triplet toddlers! I can see us going back when the boys are older.

Sprinkler Fun!

So we have now had 2 nice days in a row...I could get used to this! Yesterday we went to discovery canyon and the boys LOVED it! WAY better than last year! And today after the boys woke up from their nap we had some friends over and set up the sprinkler...they couldn't get enough!

I think this was the only time that Venice went through...she was not a fan!

We decided that this time John was home we would put a good dent into some of our yardwork, and boy did we ever! I wish that we had taken before and after pics to show all of the progress that we made!

Canada Day 2011

We had a super busy Canada day this year. The fellas, John, Grandpa and I, packed up and went down to Bower Ponds. Their fav part...the walk through the empty field to get back on the bus!

While we were waiting for the bus I gave the boys each a bag of cookies and they all took them, ran, and found a spot to sit!

John come home today so during the fellas nap I was SUPER productive. Cleaned our room (it was a disaster), our bathroom (also a disaster), kitchen, living room, and front room. Then I went outside and did some weeding, picked up the toys, and managed to fit in a little TV!

Then right before the boys woke up our new babysitters (a totally awesome set of twins from down the street, that the boys are totally crazy about) called and said they had a friend over and they were wondering if they could come and get the boys and take them to the park! How fun is that!

I can't remember the last time that I was home and the fellas were not here...most likely before they were born!!!

Singing in the rain

This title has a double meaning...

1. We PVRed the movie singing in the rain and the boys LOVE it. They sit there absolutely mesmerized each time it comes on, SO funny!

2. Although we are having AWESOME weather right now, last week was BRUTAL! So everytime the clouds broke we would load the fellas up and head over to the park. We got caught out in the rain 3 times! The boys were loving it...two of the things that they love the most...playing in the water, and being outside!

The Roy & Winter girls came over this afternoon for a play. Chrissy, Ali and I were sitting in the living room and all of a sudden there were no kiddos...they had found a bed to jump on!!!

Giselle wanted to get in on the action too :)

The kids played SO well together today. At one point they all came running out one behind the other, did a lap around the island in the kitchen, and went back to jump on the bed! Love these kiddos!

The boys LOVE busses! No matter where they are when they see one they say bu (sounds more like ba) bu, bu. Today when I was out and about I saw these little busses and knew that they just had to have them. They drove them around for about an hour straight, and then all at the same time they went missing, couldn't find them ANYWHERE! When I was cleaning up after they went to bed I found them tossed out onto the deck, three little busses in a pile out in the rain. Funny how they can make me laugh even after they are in bed :)

Our new cups...

I got this beautiful cup for my birthday a few weeks ago and I use it ALL THE TIME! The problem is that the boys want to share it with me and they bite the straw...grrrr.

We found out that they had similar ones at superstore so we went to get some for the fellas. When they woke up from their nap we gave them each their new cup and they LOVED them as much as I love mine!

Since it has been a little bit nicer out lately my fellas and I have ben B-U-S-Y!!! I have not been not posting because we have not been doing anything, it is quite the opposite...and having the camera slows me down, and the boys are CRAZY fast so I need to lose anything that slows me down! Also I have been kinda lazy :)

Today we got out the boys' bouncer. Matthew and Lucas climbed right in, but for some reason Nathan was not having any of it!

Tiffany & Charlie came over this morning to do photo shoot with the fellas and I. The other day I heard a silly laugh coming from the boys room...when I looked in this is what I saw! I put the mattress back on the bed but within minutes I could hear that laugh again. I looked in and the mattress was flipped! So I turned to my best friend to help me...duct tape, that's right, I duct taped the mattress to the bed, I had no choice!

Toddler Proofing

When the boys started crawling we babyproofed...but since then we have had to toddler proof...and it has been a MUCH bigger challenge! Duct tape has become our BEST friend...we should seriously consider buying some stock in the company that makes it! The other day when Keith came over he was looking around and all of a sudden said "man, that's a lot of duct tape". I thought that I should blog some of the things we have done so that we never forget (actually one of my friends thought I should :)), so here it goes!

Every single door and cupboard in our house is locked shut...seriously every one! We have over 25 of these type of locks up in our house. The second that we leave one open the boys open the drawer and start emptying it out...which would be fine for some of the drawers, but too many of them have things that have potential to hurt the fellas...even our "tupperware" is glass :( !

The Oven - has to be taped shut because otherwise they just open 'er up, and climb on in!

The dishwasher...same as the oven!

The chairs at the table - If they are not taped tucked in, the boys whip them out and hop up and dance on the table...they seem to want to do this most when I am in the other room changing someone else's diaper!

Front hall closet - this is part our fault because the door is broken so it swings out...it requires duct tape and fasteners to keep it shut!

Downstairs bar fridge - those little fellas already think they like beer :)

The BBQ - yes we even have things taped outside!

and finally, my masterpiece! It took numerous attempts on this one to get it just right, and yes I am proud of it!

Some of you out there may think that this is a bit extreme but unless you have 3 - 21 month olds running around and getting into EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME, don't judge! hahaha, these extremes help keep us sane!

The scariest part of it all is that they are starting to be able to just peel the duct tape and sometimes they can open the locks...

This afternoon we took the boys over to run at the park. We have been doing this quite a bit lately and they LOVE it. Today's visit did not last long at all because of all the mosquitos, but since John and Mom were with us I was able to snap a few pictures!
